Overview
SonaTalk is a communication app published by SenseAble Living. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data SonaTalk does and does not collect.
What we collect
Nothing. SonaTalk does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. We have no servers, no user accounts, and no analytics. We never see your data.
How your data is stored
Any customizations you make — tiles, messages, icons, voice settings — are saved locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to SenseAble Living or any third party. If you uninstall the app or switch to a new device, your customizations will not transfer.
Reinstalling or switching devices
If you switch to a new device or reinstall SonaTalk, you can redownload the app at no charge through your Google Play account. Your purchase is tied to your Google account, not your device. However, your customizations — tiles, messages, and settings — are stored only on your device and will not transfer. You will need to set them up again on your new device.
Text-to-speech
SonaTalk uses your device’s built-in text-to-speech engine to read messages aloud. This is processed entirely on your device. No audio or text is sent to SenseAble Living or any external server. SonaTalk does not limit what words or phrases can be added to tiles. It is up to you to determine what is appropriate for you.
Children’s privacy
SonaTalk is suitable for use by children, but not made for children. Because we collect no personal data whatsoever, the app complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations.
Third-party services
SonaTalk does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how data is handled, we will update this page and revise the “last updated” date above.

The Fine Print
- Agreement By downloading or using SonaTalk, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
- What SonaTalk is SonaTalk is a communication app. It converts text and tile selections into spoken audio using your device’s built-in text-to-speech engine. That is its entire function.
- What SonaTalk is not SonaTalk is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, monitor, or prevent any condition. It provides no medical, clinical, or therapeutic advice, and it is not a substitute for professional evaluation or care from a physician, speech-language pathologist, or other qualified provider. SonaTalk is not an emergency communication system. It should not be relied upon to summon help, report an emergency, or communicate in any situation where a failure to communicate could result in harm. Always maintain an independent means of contacting emergency services.
- Your license Your purchase grants you a personal, non-transferable license to use SonaTalk on devices associated with your Google account. You may not redistribute, resell, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the app.
- Your responsibilities You are responsible for setting up the app appropriately for its user, for the content of any tiles or messages you create, and for verifying that the app works as you expect before relying on it. SonaTalk does not filter or restrict what words or phrases can be entered. You are responsible for determining what is appropriate. You are responsible for your own device, including its charge, volume settings, text-to-speech engine, and general working order. SonaTalk cannot function if the device does not.
- Availability SonaTalk runs entirely on your device and does not require an internet connection to operate. However, we make no guarantee that the app will function without interruption or error, or that it will remain compatible with future versions of Android or of your device’s text-to-speech engine.
- Purchases and refunds SonaTalk is sold through Google Play as a one-time purchase. All sales, refunds, and billing are handled by Google under Google Play’s terms. SenseAble Living does not process payments and cannot issue refunds directly.
- Updates and changes We may update SonaTalk from time to time. Features described as upcoming are stated intentions, not commitments, and may change or be withdrawn without notice. We may also discontinue the app; if we do, previously purchased copies will continue to work on your device, but we cannot guarantee ongoing compatibility.
- Disclaimer of warranties SonaTalk is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SenseAble Living disclaims all warranties, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will meet your requirements, that it will operate uninterrupted or error-free, or that any defect will be corrected. No advice or information obtained from SenseAble Living, whether oral or written, creates any warranty not expressly stated here. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.
- Limitation of liability To the fullest extent permitted by law, SenseAble Living LLC and its members shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use SonaTalk — including any failure to communicate — regardless of the legal theory and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid for the app. Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation of liability for certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.
- Indemnification You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SenseAble Living from any claim arising out of your use of SonaTalk or your violation of these terms.
- Governing law These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law principles.
- Changes to these terms We may revise these terms. Continued use of the app after a revision constitutes acceptance. The “last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.
